The main trend of the new “fashion” season is to have as little hair on your head as possible. In sharing opinions about this trend, we certainly don’t aim to persuade you to chop off your locks. Quite the opposite. We want you to know that, despite what almost looks like scientific evidence for the advantages of short hair, men have historically preferred women with long hair. Keep that in mind.
Long hair requires more time to maintain, while short hair requires less time to maintain; it also reacts more easily to a fresh autumn breeze. There’s something elusive and magnetically attractive about a woman with a short haircut. With long hair she appears more grounded, and her hairstyle tells her partner that she’s fully feminine or, at the very least, unmistakably female. In contrast, a short cut can even prompt curious kids on the playground to ask, “Are you a boy or a girl?”
If you have a short haircut, remember lipstick—short styles draw attention to the lips—but you can confidently toss aside brushes, hair ties, and other styling tools. Short hair is a great way to balance certain facial features; for instance, your nose can seem less prominent. Plus, you’ll show off your neck, and a long neck is often more flattering than a prominent nose—it doesn’t need constant touch-ups, except perhaps for very special occasions. However, you’ll need to wash it more often.
Of course there are downsides. With short hair, you might suddenly find yourself dreading April’s biting winds. One consolation is the variety of accessories you can wear confidently, such as oversized pearls or long, Eastern-style earrings. And for summer, stock up on sunglasses in any shape— they’ll all look great on you.
Men will tenderly touch your neck instead of absentmindedly twirling your long locks. Those who like to hold eye contact will also appreciate your profile.
