Dr. Tom Crawford, a mathematician at Oxford, has developed a formula for the perfect breakfast aimed at helping travelers get the most out of hotel dining.
The idea for this formula struck Crawford after he learned that a quarter of Britons put their plans on hold because they overindulge at breakfast buffets.

What the Perfect Breakfast Formula Entails
Contrary to popular belief, Crawford says breakfast should start with hot food, not cold.
And here’s bad news for those who love to lounge in bed: the mathematician says the ideal breakfast should begin precisely at 8:17 AM. The formula also specifies what to eat and in what order. Crawford says there are several key components to a breakfast buffet, with the type and quantity of food, the start time, and the duration of the meal all playing important roles.
The formula outlines each of these variables, as reported by the Daily Mail. The optimal solution is based on the habits of the average vacationer.
So to get the best experience at a breakfast buffet, arrive at 8:17 AM and eat two plates.

The first plate should include one slice of toast, a serving of eggs, a portion of beans, two slices of bacon, and two sausages (vegetarian options are acceptable).
The second plate should be eaten 16 minutes after the first to aid digestion. It should include two slices of smoked salmon, two servings of fruit, one pastry, and one yogurt. Crawford also recommends adding a bowl of cereal. Who would have thought a scientifically backed breakfast could be this simple!
