On Christmas Day, December 25, 2016, fans of British singer-songwriter George Michael were devastated by the news of his death. He was 53. But he’s become a Christmas icon not because he died on the holiday, but because of the 1984 song that made him famous: *Last Christmas*. HouseWife has already written about this legendary track, its creation story, and its enduring popularity. Michael wrote and performed the single as one half of the duo Wham!, with Andrew Ridgeley. The song went on to become one of the biggest holiday hits ever. Next year, *Last Christmas* will turn 40.
That partly explains why the British tabloid Daily Star turned to artificial intelligence over the winter holidays. Its journalists asked the AI tool Midjourney to show what a 60-year-old George Michael might look like today if he were still alive.
Midjourney, which generates images from text prompts, produced pictures suggesting that even at 60 he’d still stand out for his style and sophistication.
The AI kept one signature detail: even at 60, Michael wouldn’t give up his iconic sunglasses. It also pictured him with gray hair that suited him.

In one image, Michael wears a deep V-neck T-shirt and a black leather jacket, with a neat haircut and trimmed beard. Midjourney didn’t spare the deep wrinkles; they read more as distinguished lines across his forehead and face. The Daily Star writers say this look gives him a touch of Pierce Brosnan’s James Bond.
In another photo, he keeps the black leather jacket and sunglasses, adding a small pearl earring and a striking golden-brown scarf.

In another shot, Michael wears a luxurious floral-patterned blazer over a sheer top, a prominent chain around his neck, and a ring on his finger.

Credit the AI: it didn’t miss the mark portraying Michael as an extraordinarily stylish man with refined taste and a fondness for the finer things. In the memory of his peers and in AI’s imagination, he remains a true fashion icon!
