The Twin Mood Link: Why My Sister and I Can’t Be Happy at the Same Time

That’s what our older sister calls us because of our unique trait: Irina and I never seem to be in a good mood at the same time. If one of us is feeling fantastic, the other is having a terrible day. If I’m enjoying a wonderful relationship with my husband, Irina has just had a huge fight with hers. If I’m struggling to manage Sasha, Irina is handling her kids like a pro. The reverse is true as well.

We can transmit our moods to each other just by saying them out loud. Sometimes we even hesitate to share certain things with one another. This happens with headaches and minor health issues too. You say, “I have such a terrible headache,” and before you know it she’s complaining about hers, even though you feel perfectly fine. I wonder if other twins experience the same thing?
