Ingredients (for 4 servings): viburnum berries – 250 g; honey – 3 tablespoons; granulated sugar – ½ cup; mineral or sparkling water – 1 bottle.
How to Prepare Viburnum Drink with Honey
After the first frosts, gather ripe viburnum berries, separate them from the branches, rinse them, and mash them using a blender or by hand. Mix the mashed berries with granulated sugar and let it sit in a cool place for 6 hours. Then, strain the released juice and mix it with honey.
The viburnum-and-honey mixture made from this recipe can be stored in a glass jar in the refrigerator and enjoyed with mineral or sparkling water or added to tea.
The ratio of viburnum to honey is 1:1. Adjust the ratio of juice to sparkling water in the drink to taste.

Tips and Healing Uses
- Remove the seeds from the berries to prevent a bitter taste.
- For winter storage: heat the mixture in a water bath to 40–45°C to help preserve its properties. Alternatively, lightly pasteurize it or add lemon juice to the mixture.
- Combine viburnum and honey with lemon (equal parts) or with ginger for an immunity boost. For prevention, take 1 teaspoon in the morning on an empty stomach. When sick, add 1 teaspoon to tea or warm water and take it 3–4 times a day.
- Pour 250 ml of boiling water over 2 tablespoons of viburnum, add 1 teaspoon of honey, steep for 15 minutes, and drink the infusion two to three times a day.
