When American designer Steve Kozloff designed this luxurious steel vessel, he thought about his wife, Terry, and the many underwater adventures that awaited them. He imagined them exploring the ocean depths together — hence the name Deep Sea Dreamer.
According to Kozloff, the concept is both a submarine and a superyacht, with an estimated price of $250 million. When operating as a submarine, the vessel can dive to about 100 meters.

Functional and impressive
The 33-meter vessel has two decks: an upper deck and a lower deck. Its living area covers about 140 square meters.
When the upper deck stays above water, it offers outdoor space to relax and breathe fresh air, or a cozy lounge area.

At the bottom of the hull is a transparent viewing bubble that serves as a continuous panoramic window. Passengers can admire deep-sea flora and fauna through the bubble and a transparent floor.
Kozloff says the lower — or main — deck will appeal most to fans of submarines and yachts. Enter the bubble and you find a lounge with four luxurious chairs, a piano, dining tables, a kitchenette stocked with dishes and delicacies, a bar, and other amenities.
The main cabin includes beds, a bathroom, and a large wardrobe, so passengers can nap or get a full night’s sleep. The ship also features a guest cabin with its own bathroom, Designboom reported.
In its superyacht configuration, the vessel includes a large kitchen, a laundry room, a waterproof elevator, stairwells, and a large exhaust pipe for air intake. In partial submersion mode, it remains on the surface.

How does it work?
During long journeys, the Deep Sea Dreamer can travel just below the water’s surface using a fixed dorsal tube or dive deep into the sea like a full-fledged submarine.
It’s powered by a hybrid electric-diesel system. With its batteries, the craft can travel up to 160 kilometers silently without recharging. Kozloff says the Deep Sea Dreamer can remain stationary on the ocean floor for seven days, even in rough conditions. Its cruising speed is 11 km/h, and its top speed is 18.5 km/h.
The superyacht-submarine can be equipped with either a conventional anchor or a submersible mooring device.
