GabyPrice: The two-seat vehicle will cost up to $1 million. This four-wheeled, two-winged transport can accelerate along a 300-meter runway before taking off, where it reaches speeds of up to 250 km/h. The hybrid car’s maximum speed on the road is 200 km/h. Its range is 1,000 km, and its maximum flight altitude is 5.5 km.
It takes the car 80 seconds to extend its wings and transform from a land vehicle into an airplane. Klein Vision announced that the car will go on sale in the first three months of 2026, but it will not be cheap. A company representative told the Daily Mail that the price will start at $800,000 but could rise to $1 million, depending on specifications. Buyers will be able to choose engines with 280, 320, or 340 horsepower.
Currently, the AirCar runs on gasoline, but the company says it will switch to an electric version “as soon as battery energy density becomes sufficiently high.”
The developers also said the car will be suitable for tourist trips and could be used as a commercial taxi.
AirCar has already flown for more than 170 hours and completed over 500 takeoffs and landings. Klein Vision announced that after successful testing, the latest prototype version — AirCar 2 — is in development and refinement. Its premiere flight is scheduled for September.
Celebrity on board
Last year, Klein Vision conducted the first passenger flight of the AirCar with French musician Jean-Michel Jarre on board. He and the pilot flew roughly three kilometers in the hybrid vehicle over the airport in Piešťany, Slovakia, in about 10 minutes.
Jean-Michel Jarre, a pioneer of electronic music, described the experience as breathtaking.
In Slovakia, the AirCar received its airworthiness certificate in January 2022, allowing commercial passenger transport and paving the way for mass production of the vehicle.
Experts forecast the global market for flying cars will reach $1 trillion by 2040 and grow to $9 trillion by 2050.
