The combination of pasta, chicken, tomatoes, hard cheese, sour cream, and herbs evokes Mediterranean cuisine, considered among the healthiest in Europe. This recipe uses the oven, so you won’t have to stand at the stove and can focus on setting the table once the ingredients are prepped.
Ingredients: 250 ml of water, 250 g of pasta, 300 g of chicken fillet, 1 tablespoon of chicken seasoning, 150 g of sour cream, 100 g of hard cheese, 150 g of tomatoes, oil for greasing the baking dish, herbs for garnishing the casserole, salt to taste.
Cut the chicken fillet into pieces. Season the pieces with salt and chicken seasoning, then mix well.
Pour the dry pasta into a greased baking dish. Arrange the prepared chicken on top, then add the diced tomatoes.
Mix the sour cream with water and add salt. Grate the hard cheese on a coarse grater. Pour the sour cream mixture over the pasta, chicken, and tomatoes, then sprinkle with the grated cheese.
Cover the dish with foil and bake in a preheated 180°C (350°F) oven for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes to brown the cheese topping.
Take the aromatic dish out of the oven, sprinkle with fresh herbs, and serve.
Life Hack
Soak pasta in cold water beforehand to cut cooking time. Cover the pasta with cold water, drain it after an hour, then add it to boiling salted water — it will be ready in about a minute. Soak the pasta in cold water overnight and it will need only a few seconds in boiling water to finish. Despite this unconventional shortcut, the “express pasta” tastes just as good as pasta cooked the traditional way. Give it a try!
