This is what culinary luxury looks like! A salad adorned with green grapes is a true gastronomic gem—just as beautiful as it is delicious.
Ingredients: 500 g chicken fillet; 100 g seedless grapes; 4 eggs; 100 g hard cheese; 100 g walnuts; 1 onion; 1 tablespoon vinegar; a pinch of sugar; mayonnaise, salt, and chicken seasoning to taste.
Cut the chicken fillet into cubes. Season the chicken with curry, fry it until golden brown, and let it cool.
Lightly toast the peeled walnuts in a dry skillet and chop them.
Boil the eggs, cool them, peel them, and grate them on a coarse grater. Grate the hard cheese separately on a medium grater.
Chop the peeled onion. Pour hot water mixed with the sugar and vinegar over it, let it cool, then squeeze out some of the liquid.
Layer the salad on a flat plate in the following order: half of the chicken fillet, half of the pickled onions, half of the walnuts, half of the cheese, and half of the eggs. Repeat the layers in the same order. Spread mayonnaise on each layer (salting is optional). Apply a particularly thick layer of mayonnaise on top, as this will hold the decoration in place.
On the top layer of the salad, arrange the halved grapes cut side down. Place them in circles, as if weaving a “cap” of grapes.
Refrigerate the salad for two to three hours to let it soak, then serve it as a festive dish.
Life Hack
You can add ground nutmeg and substitute some of the walnuts with almonds. But don’t skip the curry when seasoning the fried chicken—without it, the salad won’t have the classic flavor it’s meant to have.
