Quickly rub the flour into the fat, then knead the dough, adding an egg, sugar, and baking soda. If desired, add a tablespoon of berry liqueur (optional). Divide the dough into two nearly equal parts. Wrap one portion in paper and place it in the freezer.
Press the larger portion evenly into the bottom of a greased round cake pan, slightly raising the edges. Place the pan in a preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes.
