Ingredients:
- Ground meat: 500-700g (about 1.1-1.5 lbs)
- Salt and spices to taste
- Filling: fresh zucchini (or mushrooms)
- Hard cheese: 100g (about 3.5 oz)
- Half an onion
For the filling, cut the zucchini into small cubes and salt them. Sauté the zucchini with the onion in oil in a skillet until golden brown. Season the ground meat with salt and spices. Shape the meat into small meatballs and coat each meatball in breadcrumbs. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet. Using a small glass, press a hole into each meatball. Spoon a teaspoon of the filling into each hole. Bake at 200°C (about 400°F) for 30 minutes. Five minutes before they’re done, sprinkle cheese over each nest and bake a little longer until the cheese is melted and golden.
