A California maker of innovative cars has released a special version of its solar-powered three-wheeled vehicle for the UAE: the Aptera UAE Union Anniversary Edition.
The startup showed the first prototype in 2020. The new, improved version stands out from that prototype in its specifications.
The car attracts attention with its golden carbon-fiber body, which contrasts with the black finish on other parts of the structure. The concept’s creators have outfitted the car with butterfly doors, a keyless entry system, a lightweight, comfortable interior, and a trunk with a volume of 0.9 cubic meters, Designboom reported.

Another feature of the electric car is the Solar Chill technology, tailored to the UAE’s climate. It uses solar energy to keep the interior cool continuously and independently of the outside temperature. The company says Aptera’s proprietary solar panels help prevent the cabin from overheating. The Aptera Union Edition solar vehicles also boast a range of over 600 kilometers.
The company announced the first 53 vehicles in the Aptera UAE Union Anniversary Edition series will be delivered to the United Arab Emirates in 2026.
Aptera is inviting Emirati customers to pre-order the limited run. The price is $27,000 per vehicle.
