Nettle is a powerhouse of plant fiber, protein, phytoncides, amino acids, flavonoids, unsaturated fatty acids, and carotenoids. It’s a rich source of vitamins B, A, C, D, E, F, K, and P, and a treasure trove of minerals like potassium, iron, calcium, zinc, magnesium, fluorine, and phosphorus. The young plant contains antioxidant compounds in all its parts and also has anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties, can help normalize high blood pressure, and may alleviate fatigue.
The leaves and stems of nettle can strengthen the cardiovascular system, lower blood sugar levels, improve metabolism, support skin health, fight fungal infections, and help maintain visual acuity. Dried nettle leaves and seeds can be added to bread or other baked goods, while the fresh greens are great for brewing tea, adding to green borscht, scrambled eggs, porridge, stewed vegetables, and salads. To preserve the vitamins, we recommend using young nettle in green smoothies. The energy value of this fruity herbal drink with nettle is 134 kcal.

Serve this refreshing, nutritious drink in clear glasses for breakfast.
Life Hack
Thoroughly rinse the nettle under cold running water. Pour boiling water over the leaves and let them sit for three minutes to remove the formic acid that causes the sting. Nettle pairs well not only with banana, lemon, and apple but also works wonderfully in a vitamin smoothie with orange and berries.
