GabyIn recent years, more innovative concepts have been emerging around the world — especially in superyacht design. The new design developed by the Lazzarini studio is considered one of the best by potential clients.
The 74-meter vessel Plectrum, powered by an underwater wing system, will literally fly at high speeds above the water’s surface.
The developers say they were inspired by the single-hull, high-speed sailing boats showcased at the America’s Cup (one of the oldest international sailing yacht competitions).
Underwater wing system
The superyacht Plectrum, painted in orange and black, will be powered by three hydrogen engines. Each engine has a power of 5,000 horsepower. As a result, the vessel will glide smoothly over the water, minimizing drag, at a speed of about 140 kilometers per hour.
The designers say building such a large hydrofoil superyacht would be a major achievement. The width of the wings can be adjusted depending on speed.
So far, the Lazzarini studio has only presented a visualization of the project. However, the developers say the superyacht could be built within two years if needed and would cost about €80 million to a client.
Designers — Plectrum focuses on comfort and convenience
A large yacht with four decks will be equipped with a helipad, several boats, and a car garage. On board, there will be a beach club with a pool, six guest cabins, and the owner’s apartment.
A lightweight superyacht made of carbon fiber would become the “fastest of its kind,” reports CNN.
The design studio Lazzarini continually surprises the world with new projects. Last year, it unveiled the concept of a giant 169-meter superyacht, Sovrano, featuring two helipads and a retractable deck.
Meanwhile, the Spanish studio Rodriguez Design recently showcased the five-deck superyacht Catalina, which features a huge hot tub.
